Based on the customer's control signal or internal tracking algorithm, the custom hydraulic control circuit will incrementally step the linkage, following the sun through the day. The pressure for the incremental movements is drawn off a local accumulator whose charge is maintained by the YF controller, either from a local pump or distributed hydraulic supply. This minimizes the duty cycle impact on the pump.

At the end of the day, the linkage is driven continuously back to a stow position below the horizon in preparation for the next day's travel. The linkage can also be driven to a specified service position and can be driven to stow position at any time in case of an emergency such as high winds.
