Summary:

 

Set-up and operate Computer Numerical Controls machinery that includes, but is not limited to, Mills, Lathes, EDM’s and horizontal and vertical machining centers.  Opening is on our attractively scheduled 2nd shift (4 days, 10 hr shifts, M-Th).  Training will be on 1st shift.

 

Responsibilities:

 

·          Read and interpret complex blue prints, shop travelers, and sketches for machined and/or fabricated parts.

·          Inspect parts to specifications and document results.

·          Prepare and pre-set all tools needed for machining operation.

·          Mount, align, and secure tooling, fixtures, and work pieces on machines.

·          Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media.

·          Start machines and monitoring displays of machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjust machine controls or control media as required.

·          Stop machines to change cutting tools and set-up according to required machining sequence or to measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications.

·          Enter commands or manually adjusting machine controls to correct malfunctions or out of tolerance machining.

·          Report machinery, tooling or quality issues to supervisor.

·          Perform additional duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

·          High School Graduate or equivalent.

·          5 years of solid experience in set-up and operation of CNC horizontal or vertical machining centers or lathes.

·          Ability to work from complex drawings with close tolerances.

·          Experience with low volume, high mix production and FANUC compatible G&M code a plus.

·          Ability to interpret GD&T.

·          Experience with gages and measuring equipment.
